A Room for Occasions

Stockyard Prime began as a butcher's counter. The dining room came later — and it kept the butcher's standards.

Chef-owner Daniel Kline still selects every primal himself, ages it in the glass-fronted room you can see from the bar, and insists the room stay quiet enough for conversation. No music over dinner. No rush between courses. Just brass, bone china, and beef cooked exactly as ordered.

What Guests Remember

★★★★★

“Booked for our 25th anniversary and they treated it like it mattered. The porterhouse was perfect, and they brought out a handwritten card with dessert.”

Margaret H. — Marion
★★★★★

“The quietest, most grown-up room south of Springfield. My father still talks about that ribeye two months later.”

James T. — Herrin
★★★★★

“Worth every dollar for a special night. Service never hovered, never vanished — just appeared exactly when we needed something.”

Priya S. — Carbondale
